Psychology is the study of the human mind – how we think, act and behave. Psychologists use different therapeutic methods to help people overcome their problems and improve their health and wellbeing.
Our experienced team provides safe and effective psychological services to support various mental and emotional issues, including anxiety, addictions, bipolar, depression, eating disorders, and OCD.
How can a private psychologist help?
The first step is identifying the specific issue you require support for. We will then talk to you and recommend the most appropriate treatment method. We have a team of specialists with years of experience in treatment methods that include CBT, psychotherapy, psychometric testing, neuropsychology, educational, organisational, occupational and forensic psychology.
Different types of therapy require different amounts of sessions, and some are longer than others. CBT often involves some homework, while some psychology sessions involve psychometric tests to help the psychologist understand how you think.
Don't worry if you aren't sure which one is right for you. We will advise you on which therapies might be suitable. Our friendly, experienced team is here to help. All our advisors are clinically trained as psychotherapists or psychologists and have the knowledge to advise you on your best course of action.
Matching you with a private psychologist
It's essential to get the fit right. If you're unsure what type of specialist is right for you, give us a call, and we'll be happy to talk through your options.
We will only match you with someone we think can help you and identify that clinician depending on various factors, including their specialism and how you and their work. If required, we can also consider other aspects, such as gender and religion.
At the end of your first session, your specialist will have an initial impression of what type of treatment will most benefit you. After that, they will make a recommendation; often, this is to have around six more sessions and then review progress. Finally, if you're happy to start, they will book you for your next session, and the work begins.
